A group of Year 7 students and staff headed off to Lakeside Activity Centre in the Lake District from 21-23 September 2022.
Once again, the residential trip was huge fun, full of challenges and a great opportunity for the students to get to know each other and the staff, whilst pushing themselves out of their comfort zones. This feel of ‘reaching for the top’ is how we want the students to approach their learning.
The students jumped in head first and had a go at high ropes, archery, zip wire, pioneering, swimming outdoors, initiatives and night walks. On an evening, the students spent time sitting around the campfires, drinking hot chocolate and singing songs.
Trip leader and PE Teacher, Mr Rampling said “Everyone was very well-behaved and it was great to see the students forming solid relationships with each other and their tutors. As the trip came to an end, the students said that they felt they could accomplish anything – if they can face their fears of heights or water then they can face the challenges in the classroom.
Thank you to the students for being ace, the staff on the trip and those back at school for covering!
