VALE OF YORK ACADEMY IS PART OF

Fundraising

Students worked hard to raise the necessary funds needed to go to Morocco in 2019.

The following events took place to raise further funds – please support us if you can!

1) Dog racing evening – Friday 28th September (7pm – 9.30pm)

Staff will run a raffle to go in central funds on the evening. Ticket entry and bets on dogs will be shared from those students who support the evening. Students will need to be around from 4pm to support with getting the hall set up for the evening and will be needed to try and sell as many tickets as possible for the evening.

£5 Adults and £4 child entrance fee which includes food. Drinks are to be bought on site from the bar. Tickets will be available to sell from Wednesday 5th September. Mr Orr will host the evening for us and has the necessary races.

Students can also have a stall on the evening if they have surplus things that they haven’t sold, for example cards, gifts or sweet treats. If you would like to do something, please can you run this by me before putting in to place please.

2) Christmas Fayre – Vale of York Academy, Thursday 6th December – Date and times TBC.

Just like last year, students can have a table to run a stall of their selection. Vale of York Society run the event with Mr Orr and all ideas of what you want to sell/do must be run via them before can be instructed. Please start planning this now as this is a great opportunity to make good money. There are also lots of neighbouring primary school around us operating Christmas fayres during the month too, so try and get a stall there if you can to make further funds.

3) Food tasting evening (Moroccan Restaurant) – Wednesday 6th Feb 2019

Leave 4.30pm from school back for 8.30pm

An evening out to a Moroccan restaurant in Leeds. Mr Rampling and staff to take students who would like to try some traditional food ahead of us going. Mr Rampling will drive students in the minibus however cost of the food is to yourselves, and not to come from fundraised money. This is not compulsory but something the students asked about doing in the lead up, I’d say £30 maximum would be needed really for the evening.

4) Bag packing – Tesco Extra (York), 23rd March 2019 (10am – 2pm).

This event is the same as last time, meet at the front of Tesco at 9.45am in full uniform. Collection tins and Morocco board will be given to students as we arrive. Coats can be left in the minibus. At 2pm we will pack things away and money will be distributed to students on the Monday back at school.
