It is essential that we ensure that all students adhere to the uniform standards set by the school. We would like to remind parents/carers of our uniform standards prior to you purchasing uniform.

The school only has one uniform supplier: Keal Teamwear, their shop is on Walmgate, alternatively you can purchase uniform online at Keal Uniform.

Families of students who will be joining us in Year 7 from September and who currently receive free school meals are eligible for a contribution of £100 towards purchasing uniform from Keal Teamwear.

We are proud of our uniform which helps to create a purposeful atmosphere. We expect all students to wear the correct uniform at all times. We encourage students to take responsibility for ensuring they come to school dressed in a tidy and neat manner.

Hair colour and style must be appropriate and of an acceptable standard for school. Students should check with their Progress Leader if in doubt. Extreme hair colour and styles will not be permitted.

For safety reasons, students may only wear one stud earring in each ear no other jewellery may be worn and other body piercings will not be allowed. We also request that no child uses nail varnish or has false nails that are coloured and that no make up is worn.

Uniform Support

In association with our fantastic parent group, the Vale of York Society, we are pleased to be able to offer our families support through our preloved uniform provision. We are steadily building up a supply of second hand uniform with a range of sizes for all students. From the summer of 2023, families who require support with new uniform can self refer via email to Mr Orr to access help.
There are two options –
1) Our Swap Shop – If your child has grown out of their uniform, simply email Mr Orr with what you require and in what size. If it is in stock, you can swap your child’s current uniform for the requested items. It would be appreciated if the items you swap in are washed, are of a good condition or only require minor repairs.
2) Pay As You Can – The other option is that you pay what you can afford for the items we have in stock. There will be no judgement made regarding the donation that you make for the items you require. All money received will go into repairing donated uniform and purchasing further items for this provision. For this option, email Mr Orr the items and sizes that you require and if we have these in stock, he will organise collection and you can use ParentPay to make your donation.
New starters in Year 7 who are entitled to free school meals are will receive £100 discount from Keal Teamwear. This will be sent via email. For support with this or if you have any questions, please email Mr Orr
We really do appreciate all donated uniform, so please do drop off any unneeded items at Main Reception or when you are in school for an event.
