Name: Chantel Maskell
Achievement: Social Media Administrator
Year of leaving school: 2017
I left Canon Lee IN 2017 with three GCSE’s (more than I expected in all fairness) and I really thought that I wouldn’t get anywhere, unlike others that got really good grades so I was really unsure what opportunities would be available for me.
I then moved to Selby and after being unemployed and not in college (as I didn’t feel it suited me) I came across an apprenticeship at The Skills Network, a local training provider.
The apprenticeship was in Business Administration, and after two interviews I was successful. Once I had completed my apprenticeship, I was offered a job in the Marketing department as a Social Media Marketing Administrator, where I’ve been for a while. At Christmas I won the Employee of the Year award, for my hard work and dedication whist working at TSN which I was absolutely thrilled to receive.
I’m completely settled in my job now and have been there almost 2 years. Everyone there is amazing and supportive, but I never even thought I would be in this job, let alone any job, because I didn’t get great GCSE’s!!
