After the success of the Peer Maths Tutoring launch in March at Burton Green Primary, students at Vale of York Academy have started working with Hope’s newest school, Skelton Primary. The Year 9 tutors, who were working on a two-to-one basis at Burton Green, have increased their group sizes to four and are stretching and challenging Year 5 children of differing abilities.
Rob Orr, Community and Transition Coordinator at Vale of York said: “Our students have been incredible and have really empowered and helped the younger children within our partner Hope schools.
“This is a scheme we will be implementing into our primary offer across the catchment area from September, and it will run alongside a similar literacy programme and our regular enrichment programme documented in our Primary Taster Menu.”
