Name: Connor Foster
Achievement: Early Years Education Student
Year of leaving school: 2016
I left school in 2016 with no GCSE’s, wasn’t allowed to go to prom and during my last year, I had less than 45% attendance. I buckled down in York College and achieved a distinction in Professional Cookery and Patisserie Chef. I then went on to work at the York University as a wedding caterer.
I am now currently working within a primary school and private nursery studying Early Year’s Education and will be going on to doing a BA honours in Early Years Education very soon! In the future I’m going on to do a primary education degree at York St. John’s University after my Early Years Education course is complete. All this being achieved within 3 years of leaving school after leaving with not a single GCSE.
I think this is a good example to students who don’t care about their education just like I didn’t, which made my journey to becoming a teacher much harder.
