Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships combine practical training in a job with study and take one to five years to complete depending on their level.

As an apprentice you’ll:

• work alongside experienced staff
• gain job-specific skills
• earn a wage and get holiday pay
• get time for study related to your role (usually one day a week)

There’s lots of great information on the City of York Council’s website, where you can search for local apprenticeships and sign up for a weekly newsletter which lists local vacancies, as well as providing general apprenticeship and event information from across the city.

The GetMyFirstJob website has hundreds of apprenticeship vacancies which you can search by industry, role and distance from home.
