Enrichment day – Year 8 working with Alive! and St Johns Ambulance

Year 8 were ‘Staying Safe’ – learning about the hazards of rail, road and fire safety. Network Rail gave our students some hard-hitting facts about the consequences of playing near live tracks. Alive! Focused on road and cycling safety, and delivered a set of 3 fantastic workshops where our students were given loads of amazing freebies to keep them safe on the streets—bike lights, hazard clothing and other awesome gadgets! We had some fire safety strategies from North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, and St John’s Ambulance showed our students how to carry out basic first aid, and teach them what to do in the event of a choking accident.
