VALE OF YORK ACADEMY IS PART OF

Induction Day

Moving to Vale of York Academy

Helpful information for those transitioning from Y6 to Vale of York Academy
We are delighted that this year we are able to welcome Year 6 students to the school for the city-wide Induction Day on Wednesday 7 July.

On this day, pupils from all over the city will get the opportunity to spend the day at their new secondary school and here at Vale of York Academy we have a fun and interactive day planned for you! The day will begin with a welcome assembly and meeting your form tutor, before spending the day in your tutor group exploring the different parts of the school through the range of activities you’ll take part in.

Unfortunately, due to guidance from the local authority, we will no longer be able to hold our extra Transition Days on Thursday 8 and Friday 9 July as planned. As such, Year 6 students should attend their primary schools as normal.

If you have any questions about the Induction Day, please do not hesitate to contact Mr Orr via email – transition@voy.hlt.academy

Feeling nervous?

We understand that some students find the move to secondary school more difficult than others, so we ensure that additional support is there for you during your move to Vale of York Academy.

Take a look at Mr Orr’s video below so that you can see what the school looks like and also hear from one of our current Year 7 students who was in your shoes this time last year.
