Name: Amy Martin
Achievement: Cardiac Physiologist
Year of leaving school: 2007
My name is Amy Martin, age 28. I left school in 2007.
I didn’t go into what I originally went to college to do and ended up having a child age 21. He is now 7 and I’ve just this year graduated from university with first class honours in BSc Healthcare Science (Cardiac physiology). I am working as a cardiac physiologist at York hospital this includes outpatient clinics for patients with complex cardiac conditions, pacemaker clinics, working in the cardiac catheterisation lab helping stent diseases coronary arteries plus much more.
I studied whilst working and having a family and I am very proud of my achievement. I have just applied for the specialist position where I hope to continue study as a specialist cardiac sonographer in the future.
I’d like to thank all at the school for pushing me to do my best and for the great start in education.
